My Cat Gets Answers

Today is ‘National Answer Your Cat’s Questions’ day‘. This was told to me by a friend, and boy was I shocked! When I told Patches, she was so excited to get some of her questions answered.

Q: Why are Sarah’s (my sister’s) and my mommy and daddy’s doors shut all of the time? Why do I get in trouble when I go in their room?

A: Well, you see, Sarah, Mommy, and Daddy get sniffles in their noses when fur from your pretty coat gets under their bed. This makes them sick and sad, and then they can’t play with you! We don’t want them to not be able to play with you, do you?

Q: Is that why I’m kept down the basement at night?

A: Yes. Although I would love to have you sleep on my bed with me (which you probably wouldn’t do anyways…) at night, Mommy and Daddy want you to stay down there at night.

Q: Why doesn’t Daddy give me as many treats as he used to?

A: When we took you to the vet, your weight was a bit higher than the average cat your age. We want you to be healthy, and having too many treats isn’t good for you! You have more energy when you’re not eating as many treats!

Q: What is the vet?

A: You know that place that you go to a few times a year, when we take you outside in the carrier that you hate? The person who clips your nails and gives you shots is the vet.

Q: Where did Henry go?

A: Henry was sick and now is in kitty heaven. He is in a better place now. Don’t worry, though, you will see him again when you go to heaven!

Q: Why don’t you let me outside to be with the kitties I see in the window?

A: Those kitties don’t get as much love and aren’t as spoiled as you are! They get lost, cold, and sick out where there are no humans around. Just keep playing with them through the window. ;)

I hope that your questions were answered, Patches!  Have a nice cat nap.
